POSTMODERNIST example. 'Don't be a jerk' by Barbara Kruger 1996. She's well known for using photography with news-press type. It's critical and mocking the 'crowd'. It's quite different from other post-modernistic work, that usually is over-decorated and doesn't really mean anything, and even if it does, you cannot understand it.
MODERNISTIC example. 4 international teaser movie posters for Darren Aronofske film 'Black Swan' by La Boca 2010. Independent design 'circus' specialising in art & design for film, music and fashion industries. Based in London, Portobello. For this project they revisited the modernist style and applied it. Bold colours, geometrical, sans-serif type.
