ANALYZE. RESEARCH PLAN.

16 page booklet research plan:

My theme:
'Home Improvements'

THE BRIEFS HIGHLIGHTS. ( I went trough the brief again to be certain I fit into the guidelines and tick boxes, cuz apparently that's what this course is about)

The content has to be reflected in the product.

The work SHOULD EXPLORE possible PRODUCTS (just to clarify: Something produced by human or mechanical effort or by a natural process.So....can actually be something else than a book), ranges (so needs to be more than ONE) and methods of distribution that MAY (Expressing possibility, can-be able) suggested by your content OR reflect your own creative ambitions within Graphic Design (so, what if my creative ambitions are outside graphic design?)

1st part of the brief:  practical, visual and contextual investigation into your SPECIFIC SUBJECT. (Just to clarify again it should say CONTEXTUAL first cuz how can u do the practical side without the contextual?)

2nd part of the brief: practical and contextual research exploring relationship between different graphic design disciplines. I CHOSE: Product & packaging, Branding & identity. ( I chose these two for certain reasons that you will see in my research book)

3rd part of the brief: (this is my 'favorite' part) PRODUCE a practical and contextual RESPONSE (fair enough) to your research  that brings together your research into content (so you can do whatever but it has to have content, wow, tricky way of making everyone to do a book, so much for creative freedom) , context (which is clear enough, because it has to be a book, so just adopt the book to be related to your research) , specific design disciplines (which you already researched by now) and appropriate media/formats (book, or publication because it has to be content heavy as it seems). Your response should explore the relationship (what exactly does that mean? so you do your 'product' (in this case, books, or publications)) bewtween product range and methods/media of distribution (and than find ways and places to promote?)  as well as specific audiences (duh? which should be considered in the begging before even starting the project) , contexts (am, is that not the same as methods and media of distribution?) and appropriate tone of voice (so a tone of voice that suits your audience and your subject).

So...what about design development? i guess that's the least important part for a designer?
