1. Wipebook
One of the first campaigns I looked at and definitely wanted to 'GET'!
"Generate amazing ideas with our reusable whiteboard notebook!"
The video demonstrates the product clearly. Frank Bouchard - is the creator of the idea. They use a very old method of selling. Problem ----> problem solution. You can see they put a lot of effort into creating all the gift illustrations and making the idea as clear and as 'needed' as possible! The campaign is really detailed
2. THE 2014 WALL ASR CALENDAR - A Unique Circular Calendar
Within the Graphic Design area, the most impressive thing that I've seen and has been fully funded is this calendar! It ahs a very detailed description of the design and the process and again. Problem -----> solution.
3. I wonder what it's like to be dyslexic
Another great Graphic Design campaign - the book of how dyslexic people feel made by Sam Barclay who is a dyslexic graphic designer! It again has a already prepared design solution and ready made product. Also has a detailed explanation and charts as well as what have people said about this already.
4. Final Quest Part 2
Yet again there are campaigns like this that got funded but I'm not too sure should it be ranked as a successful campaign? As the pledge was small and I'm not even sure why the money was needed?
5. Double Fine Adventure
This is probably the video that I analysed most! I absolutely enjoyed the video and actually got a lot of ideas from it from my own video! Double Fine and Player Productions have done two videos and both of them were really strong and GOT FULLY FUNDED WITH NOT MUCH INFORMATION tho! There are only previews of the work and the idea is mainly explained. I definitely played on the factor "I'm already successful"
6.Wish I was Here
This video brought in a lot of controversy as it was made by Zach Braff and although the reason behind him doing a kickstarter was to be intendant from other sources of financing - few weeks after he got funded thsi happened ----> http://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/may/16/zach-braff-kickstarter-controversy-deepens
7. Above the game: A guide to getting awesome with women.
This is another contraversial campaign that has been funded trough Kickstarter. After this campaign Kickstarter banned 'seduction guids' http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/jun/21/kickstarter-above-the-game-ban as the book clearly encourages violence against woman which Kickstarter clearly stated are against.
8. The Veronica Mars Movie
This campaign is 'classed' as the most successfully crowdfunding campaign yet. As it raised the most budget in a short period of time. And though kickstarter said that it is a good thing that a lot of fans come to Kickstarter as they usually end up funding more than one project - so it's useful to everyone. Obviously, cound out 5% and figure out why it's useful to Kickstarter.
9. Battle of Brooklyn
"Battle of Brooklyn chronicles a six year community fight against a massive real estate development that uses eminent domain to take people's homes."
A social problem and again a solution. It's amazing how Kickstarter does social problems as such.
10. Building our own classroom:Studio h at the REALM Charter School
I would say a very friendly and wishful project. Has a great feel of community and care and is something for the YOUNG GENERATION.
11. Happy Canes - Spring '13 - Canes for grandma
This is the best and shortest Kickstarter video I have ever seen. It just proves that Kickstarter is such an amazing place! And it creates the possibilities for everyone to bring their ideas to life, no matter what age you are!
12. GoldieBlox: The engineering toy for girls.
Another successful and brilliant campaign yet again from an established engineer Debbie Sterling, creative, a great idea and an absolutely brilliant toy for girls who want to be more than a princess!
13. A Night of Graphic Design Straight talk with Aeron Draplin
Another Great example for successful graphic design campaigns. Aeron Draplin is a very exiting graphic designer who absolutely loves old school signs. Again we are looking at the 'already achiever' selling point and YET again not the creators but the person involved in the talk. A bit of a different approach.
14. My reincarnation
A film proposal. A little less stereotypical for a Kickstarter video as the director is never shown on the video. It's become a standard for the creator to be on the film. But this campaign shows that's it's not about the creator. In some cases it is.
15.Theft resistant bike light by Gotham Bicycle Difence
In the product design category. Again the same thing problem ----> solution. Very simple idea as well. Well executed and really easy to understand video!
